Associate Pastor
Mark Clements, Associate Pastor
Mark was born in Colorado Springs, CO into a military family. Like many military families, they moved often before finally settling in his mother's home state of Alabama.
Mark came to a saving knowledge of Christ when he was 17. "My mom came to Christ about a year before I did. Her life changed so drastically that I couldn't help but notice." Through the influence of a christian school I finally began to see my own need for Christ, and I realized that He was willing to save someone like me."
In 1981 Mark began attending Bob Jones University pursuing the bachelor and master of arts in Bible and, ultimately a Doctorate in Pastoral Theology. It was during grad school that Mark met his wife, Cindy, a native of the Chicago suburbs. Mark and Cindy were married in 1988. They have two daughters, Ellen and Janice.
Mark has been in pastoral ministry since 1991. In 2012 he and his family began attending GBF and, in 2016, the church extended a call for him to join the pastoral staff.
Mark's hobbies include a broad scope of reading (sci-fi to history), golf, and cheering on his lifelong favorite teams--the Green Bay Packers, Atlanta Braves, and the University of Alabama. Some of his favorite authors include Gary Inrig, D. Edmond Hiebert, G. K. Chesterton, Anne McCaffrey, and H. Rider Haggard.
